4/27 - “Rag Quilts All Dressed Up” Connie Sherlock with Son Shine Seed Co from Independence KS will be with us and present a different way of doing rag quilts. She’ll have a trunk show with wide variety of her quilts, ,including primitive stitching. She’ll also be set up to sell patterns from her pattern line, as well as stitchery supplies. 5/25 - Brenda Esslinger will be with us in May to show us her fabulous fractures technique.
This is a technique geared towards art quilters. Use simple strip piecing techniques to create an infinite array of stunning one of a kind fractured designs from large scale prints, panels, or your own digital images. The steps in her book are beautifully illustrated with easy to understand language to make the process easy and fun! This book demonstrates four different ways to fracture fabric. Start with the easiest method -- the Basic Fracture. 6/22 - Karen Swenson from Arkansas will be doing a fun workshop and lecture/style show for us on handbags. Handbags are a hot item right now, and everyone is doing some very creative things with them. She has lots of different styles and fun things to show us.
7/27 - Donna Thomas from Bella Vista AR - “Overcoming Fabric Paralysis: How to Color Your Quilts” – Are you one of the many quilters absolutely paralyzed with uncertainty when it comes to picking fabrics for your next project? Do you stick to kits so you don’t have to make choices or plan your own fabric choices? Well you are not alone..there are many quilters just like you who don’t know where to start. In this jam-packed lecture, Donna will take the mystery out of picking fabrics for your next project. She will review how to choose fabrics for quilts based on three main concepts: value, hue, and variety of scale of print. Each concept will be covered in great detail. She will also present simple strategic approaches, and recipes for getting you started creating your own unique masterpieces. Donna will have footlockers of quilts to show! She’ll also have books and patterns for sale.
8/24 - In August, we’ll be joined by Sherrill Lewis from the Bead Ranch. She’ll bring us the “non-boring” history of crazy quilting. Here is what she has to say about it: Crazy Quilts! The epitome of embellishment! A magpie's paradise! Sherrill presents miscellaneous minutia gathered on her 30-year journey through the world of crazy quilting. She gives an historic overview of this alternate form of quilting and its various methods of construction, from its birth as an economy measure, adding tidbits from its Victorian heyday, through the Depression, and fast-forward into the 21st Century.
Sherrill brings several 100-year old items, as well as current projects, and the fully embellished wallhangings, quilts, and other crazy-quilted items she has created in the last few years.
She’ll also have the following for sale : Fancy fabric packs, trims, ribbon, seed beads, needles, thread, related books on crazy quilting, etc.
9/28 - Chinese Auction is back!! Everyone had such a wonderful time last year, and we’ve had lots of requests to do it again. So we are! Be thinking ahead for any awesome items to bring to auction off.

11/23 - November brings voting in our new slate of Officers and celebrating the Christmas season.
3/23 - Judy Wampler will be with us. "Laura Ingalls Wilder: From Wisconsin to Missouri." I tell the story of Laura and her family's travels and homesteading adventures through the use of artifacts and quilts. I have approximately 25 quilts in the program.
